    2. Diversify Your Health Portfolio

  • Overall, a longevity workup provides valuable insights and actionable strategies to help you live a healthier, more fulfilling life.

A longevity workup offers several key benefits:

    1. Early Detection: It helps identify potential health risks and underlying conditions before they become serious, allowing for earlier intervention and management.

    2. Personalized Health Plan: By assessing your unique health profile, a longevity workup provides tailored recommendations to optimize your health and well-being based on your specific needs and goals.

    3. Preventive Measures: It focuses on preventive strategies to reduce the risk of chronic diseases, improve lifestyle habits, and enhance overall quality of life.

    4. Improved Healthspan: The workup aims to extend your healthy years by addressing factors that contribute to aging and disease, promoting a higher quality of life as you age.

    5. Informed Decisions: With a detailed understanding of your health status, you can make more informed decisions about your lifestyle, diet, and medical care.

    6. Ongoing Monitoring: Regular follow-ups and assessments ensure that any changes in your health are monitored, allowing for adjustments to your health plan as needed.

  • The "marginal decade of life" refers to the final ten years of a person’s expected lifespan, often characterized by declining health, reduced independence, and diminished quality of life.

FACT: In the U.S., the average lifespan is 77.5 years, but the average healthspan is only 66.1 years. This means many people face a decade filled with illness, physical and cognitive decline, and loss of autonomy. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

At MD Longevity Lab, we believe the gap between healthspan and lifespan is entirely modifiable. By implementing targeted lifestyle interventions—such as tailored exercise, nutrition, and proactive health planning in your 40s and 50s—you can significantly enhance your well-being and preserve your independence during your marginal decade.

Invest in your health like you invest in your 401(k). Don’t leave your future well-being to chance. At MD Longevity Lab, we provide an annual longevity workup to ensure you stay on track, uncover hidden health risks, and actively shape the trajectory of your health.

  • We offer a variety of plans tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs. Most new patients begin with either the Elite Plan or Gold Plan, both of which provide a comprehensive health assessment. If your biometrics are optimal, you can continue with annual follow-ups at MD Longevity Lab. For those requiring ongoing management and more intensive interventions, the Infinity Plan offers a robust framework to help you steer your health in the right direction. For patients on a budget or those who are stable in their journey toward better healthspan, the Elite Plan provides a half-day longevity screening, conducted annually.

  • Absolutely. We have many patients who drive or fly in once a year for their annual longevity workup. Most testing and visits can be completed in the same day. For infinity patients we see them once or twice a year and can do other visits remotely.

  • A full-body DEXA scan (Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry) is important for several reasons:

    1. Bone Health Assessment: It provides precise measurements of bone mineral density (BMD), helping to diagnose conditions like osteoporosis and assess fracture risk.

    2. Body Composition Analysis: It offers detailed information on body fat and lean muscle mass distribution, and exact visceral fat metrics. This helps in evaluating overall health and tailoring fitness and nutrition plans.

    3. Monitoring Changes: Regular DEXA scans can track changes in bone density and body composition over time, providing valuable insights into the effectiveness of interventions or lifestyle changes.

    4. Risk Assessment: By identifying areas of low bone density or abnormal body fat distribution, a DEXA scan helps assess risk factors for conditions such as metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease.

    5. Personalized Health Strategies: The data from a DEXA scan allows for more personalized recommendations for diet, exercise, and supplementation to improve overall health and prevent disease.

Overall, a full-body DEXA scan is a crucial tool for comprehensive health evaluation and long-term wellness planning.

    Normal DEXA Scan:

    • Focus: Typically measures bone mineral density (BMD) in specific areas, such as the lumbar spine, hip, and sometimes the forearm.

    • Purpose: Primarily used to diagnose osteoporosis, assess fracture risk, and monitor bone health.

    • Procedure: A quick and straightforward scan that targets select areas to evaluate bone density.

    • Scope: Limited to bone health assessment and does not provide information about body composition.

  • VO2 Max is one of the strongest indicators of longevity prognosis.

VO2 Max, or maximal oxygen consumption, is a crucial indicator of cardiovascular fitness and overall health, and it plays an important role in longevity for several reasons:

    1. Cardiovascular Health: VO2 Max measures how efficiently your body can use oxygen during intense exercise. Higher VO2 Max levels are associated with a healthier cardiovascular system, reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke.

    2. Physical Fitness: It reflects your aerobic endurance and fitness level. Improved VO2 Max indicates a higher capacity for physical exertion and endurance, which supports an active lifestyle and helps maintain mobility and strength as you age.

    3. Metabolic Function: Higher VO2 Max is linked to better metabolic health. It helps in managing body weight, improving insulin sensitivity, and reducing the risk of metabolic disorders such as diabetes.

    4. Longevity Correlation: Studies have shown that individuals with higher VO2 Max levels tend to have lower mortality rates. It is a strong predictor of overall health and longevity, as it often correlates with reduced risk of chronic diseases.

    5. Functional Capacity: A higher VO2 Max enhances your ability to perform daily activities and maintain independence as you age. It supports overall quality of life by enabling you to engage in physical activities and recover more quickly from exertion.

In summary, VO2 Max is a key indicator of cardiovascular and metabolic health, physical fitness, and overall functional capacity, all of which are essential for promoting longevity and maintaining a high quality of life. A lower VO2 max is associated with greater risk of cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality.

  • Patients who choose the Elite Plan visit the Lab for an extended assessment once a year. Those who opt for the Silver or Gold Plan have two extended visits, spaced one month apart, each year. Infinity Plan patients typically have 3-4 extended visits annually, with repeated testing throughout the year to closely monitor progress and adjust their care as needed.

  • Reach out by calling, texting or emailing us! We can help you decide what annual plan is best for you.

In addition, we have over 4 decades of combined experience in the field of healthcare and prevention. We recognize the current model of healthcare does not offer patients a full picture into what they should be doing along with an actionable blueprint to optimize their healthspans. MD Longevity Lab removes these barriers and is able to share an evidence-based approach to improving healthspan and lifespan with you. Optimizing your healthspan requires knowledge and nuance. It is not a one size fits all. It requires us to actually know you, your background, and what your goals are. That is not us. We are not here to push snake oil, but rather utilize an evidence-based strategy to keep you as healthy as possible, as long as possible. If you want to have an intelligent conversation about rapamycin, exosomes, stem cells, NMN, NAD, supplements, etc., we are here for it. We want to figure out your risk for problems such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and dementia. We will listen to you, perform state of the art diagnostic testing, and develop a personalized plan so you can reach your health potential. • Longevity medicine is advanced personalized preventive medicine powered by deep biomarkers of aging and longevity, and is a fast-emerging field. The field encompasses the likewise rapidly evolving areas of biogerontology, geroscience, and precision, preventive, and functional medicine. A justified criticism of the American healthcare system is that it is geared heavily toward the treatment of established diseases, not necessarily prevention. Moreover, the traditional model of healthcare does not offer patients a full picture into what they should be doing along with an actionable blueprint to optimize their healthspans. MD Longevity Lab removes these barriers and is able to share an evidence-based approach to improving healthspan and lifespan with you.

  • ‘Healthspan’ incorporated into the Merriam Webster dictionary in 2018, so the term healthspan is a very new concept. Most of us are familiar with the term ‘lifespan’. Lifespan is purely a measure of the time an organism is alive. Healthspan is a function both of time and quality of life. The ultimate goal is for our healthspan to be equal to our lifespan. We want to live a meaningful, healthy life well into old age and not suffer in the last years of our lives.

  • This is a common fear. However, every single result we come across is 100% modifiable. We believe in a PROACTIVE approach to health rather than a REACTIVE one. Knowledge is power, and once we know what we are dealing with, it is much easier to forumulate a targeted precision plan for our patients and shift the trajectory towards a better life.

  • Short answer: no. Concierge primary care practices manage acute and chronic conditions and offer access for patients that are looking for personalized medical care from a primary care physician. The doctors here specialize in longevity medicine and the longevity testing is not something that can be done at a concierge practice. We are happy to speak with your primary care doctor or concierge doctor to collaborate on your health. Though many concierge practices offer great care, they do not do an in depth longevity workup which is where we come in.

  • MD Longevity Lab is built upon data and research by subject matter experts. The actual medical field of longevity is rather short lived and encompasses multiple body systems. Because of that, we must individually find subject matter experts in cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, exercise physiology, oncology, sleep medicine, nutrition, diabetes, lipid management, mental health, and metabolism, in order to synthesize a comprehensive and integrative best practice plans for our patients. Our pledge to you is that we continuously research updates in these fields to give the latest advice for what science has proven to improve our lives. Everything we do is backed by research. Science is an evolution of knowledge. It is knowing what we know, and being honest about what we don’t.

  • We are a small boutique practice. We are not corporate. Our team is dedicated, personalized, and shares the same value set we do. Once our patients experience the MD Longevity Lab level of care, they are with us for life. Our business grows by word of mouth. For any business, a referral to a friend or family member is the greatest compliment of all. We treat our patients like family and want the best possible care for each and every one of them.

  • We spend quality time getting to know you, your body, your results and biometrics. We also always have your individualized goals at the forefront of our plan. Goals vary patient to patient. Some patients want to continue traveling and exploring the world without age related limitations. Some strive to run 5Ks when they are 80. Some want to maintain full cognitive abilities such that they can continue working into their 70’s and 80’s. Others want to physically be able to play with their great grandchildren. Whatever your personalized goals, we will help you get there.

  • A full panel of specialty laboratory blood work with us includes:

-apolipoprotein E gene testing for Alzheimer’s risk

    -apolipoprotein B and lipid profile

-Lpa testing for cardiovascular disease risk including heart attack and stroke risk

-comprehensive metabolic panel with electrolytes, liver, kidney function

-metabolic panel with diabetes testing, full lipid testing

    - inflammatory biomarkers

    -anemia evaluation

    -vitamin levels

    -hormone levels

    -thyroid levels

Most of these labs are state of the art and not offered by all laboratory companies or under standard insurance coverage. The genetic testing gives us useful information in order to take necessary preventive measures rather than waiting until there is a problem. Prevention and education is of paramount importance.

  • Yes, using the biomarkers included in our comprehensive workup, we are able to calculate your DNAm Phenoage which is your biological age. Recognized as the most accurate measure of your biological age, your DNAm phenoage is now considered an epigenetic biomarker of aging for lifespan and health.

  • DEXA fully body scan - This easy test gives us metrics often overlooked in traditional medicine. DEXA uses an x-ray technique to look at body composition (bone health, fat and lean muscle). This modality also checks for visceral fat levels, the dangerous fat that surrounds your organs which leads to inflammation, cardiovascular disease, metabolic dysfunction, cognitive decline and cancer.

Cardiac CT - A low radiation dose cardiac CT, also known as a coronary calcium scan, is a quick, convenient and noninvasive way of evaluating the amount of calcified (hard) plaque in your heart vessels. The level of calcium equates to the extent of plaque build-up in your arteries. Plaque in the arteries can cause heart attacks. This test allows us to stratify your risk of cardiovascular disease.

Prenuvo MRI is the gold standard of full body MRI scans. There are only a handful of locations in the country. Read more about what sets Prenuvo apart below.

  • MD Longevity has contracted lower pricing with Prenuvo. For an a la carte Prenuvo MRI we charge $2400 which is less than booking directly through Prenuvo. We also include time with the MD after results are in to help answer any questions. Also, our patients have special access to a Prenuvo physician calendar with a lot more openings.

As far as the technology, there are so many differences between a Prenuvo scan and other whole body MRI services.

Sequences and filters used – To make sure that there is a low false-positive rate, it is essential to image your body with multiple filters (multiparametric imaging). Most other whole body providers do not use many filters in their screening protocol. In our protocol, this is the key to our low false-positive rate.

Quality and quantity of the images — We take up to 2000 high-quality images inside your body. The basic rule is that more images provide more details. We capture up to 10x more images than some other “Whole Body MRIs”.

One-time scanning — We scan you from head to toe during one 50-75min scan. Other providers scan parts of the body, missing entire sections, and call it a whole body scan. These non-comprehensive scans generally take 3-4 hours and aren’t full body and spine. To read more about Prenuvo, click here.

  • Family history only makes up roughly about 20% of our actual outcomes. The rest depends on what we do. Being proactive about reversing chronic disease or preventing the onset of disease in those with a strong family history is key. Each of us has that ability to make a change for the better and at MD Longevity Lab, we don’t leave anything to chance. We would rather know and be prepared than leaving our healthspan to chance.

  • CGMs are painless and safe to use devices placed on the arm or abdomen to continuous monitor our blood sugar levels. There are some CGM companies that allow you to do it without physician supervision. For our MD Longevity Lab patients, we are here to go over the nuances and trends of your levels.

CGMs empower individuals to be active participants in their health. CGMs provide individuals with a wealth of data on their unique physiological response to meals and exercise.

When patients see immediate results to their glucose from their CGM, they are motivated to make lifestyle improvements including diet and exercise modifications. CGMs translate to adherence because of real time results.

CGMs can detect abnormal sugar elevations in people who do not fit conventional diagnostic criteria for diabetes, but rather have impaired glucose tolerance. A justified criticism of the American healthcare system is that it is geared heavily toward the treatment of established diseases, not necessarily prevention. The stance that glucose monitoring should be reserved only for those individuals with an established diagnosis of diabetes is an echo of this archaic philosophy. The early identification of sugar lability helps us make interventions to prevent the actual disease.

Seeing as there is high between-individual variability in glucose levels after the same meal, CGMs help dietary professionals deliver highly personalized dietary advice.

  • No, we require that you have your own primary care physician. While our physicians are trained as primary care physicians, they do not provide acute care services. We will work with you closely as consultants in longevity medicine to help you address the roots of chronic health problems. They can confer with your primary care doctor if required.

These conventional reimbursable codes are not always consistent with the longevity medicine assessment and may not be covered. Unfortunately, we cannot change any medical codes nor communicate with your insurance company.
